Keeping the Boys Busy

We are staying with Zane's older sister who has three fantastic children who are wonderful to our boys.  Garrett and Hayden, ages 8 and 10, share all their toys and entertain Dallin and Gavin (the oldest daughter is 16, on drill team and super busy, but the boys love her too).  Our day starts out with our boys waking up in total excitement because they know they get to play with their cousins right away.  They also love waving goodbye while their cousins get on the bus.  It is a good thing they aren't embarrassed by two boys screaming bye and waving from the porch.

After Garrett and Hayden leave, we have the house to ourselves until 4p.m. and I have to figure out a way to entertain my kids and keep them away from Zane who he is working and doing phone meetings non stop without two many outside activities since it is cold.  One of the activities that was on our must do list was the Dinosaur Museum.

We walked into the first room where a lifelike display of paleontologists were shown. Gavin was scared and immediately wanted me to carry him with his head buried in my shoulder.  I thought then that I better run back to the car and get the stroller.  Once we were in the next room with displays of huge ferocious animals, Gavin was fine and was thrilled to walk around looking at everything.  It is only humans that scare him apparently.

What I loved about this museum was all the hands on activities.  The silly boys below are showing off their dinosaur they put together.

Picking up magnetic bones to put on a magnetic board creating dinosaurs.

Stickin cute kid who froze long enough for a picture

Playing in the erosion table

Finally getting both to pose at the same time

Trying to catch a "I'm really scared by the great white shark" look.

Digging for bones
We had a great time and I'm totally bummed I can't buy a two week pass so we can go back again when we need another outing.

Ariane! We live about 10 min from the dino museum. Next time you head that way let us know and we'll met up with you guys. Or better yet come play at our house during the day.
