Watching Conference

This is how we started watching the Saturday morning session of conference. (General Conference is where members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints listen to the prophet, President Monson and members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles speak. There are four general sessions.)

After a little bit, Dallin moved on to playing with toys or cutting paper. He listened the whole time though, which is pretty amazing for a two-year-old. We know he listened because every once in awhile he would yell out Book of Mormon, temple, whisper, and Jesus to name a few after a speaker said one of these words. (These are words that are apparently said a lot around the house, which is a great compliment to a mom that her son who acts like he is never listening is hearing something. He is also hearing the word whisper a lot. I wonder why?)

My favorite was every time someone said Jesus Christ whether in the middle of a talk or at the end, Dallin yelled out Amen. He actually looked up at the TV when Elder Dallin H. Oaks talked because we were shouting look Dallin, it is Dallin. His favorite speaker was President Monson of course because as Dallin informs us all the time, "President Monson is my best friend." He is a great friend to have. Apparently President Monson's talk was on honesty because Dallin told Zane and I, "President Monson say don't steal gum." I'm sure he believes that even if it wasn't mentioned during conference.

Don't you love this age when kids say the funnest things?
