Back to School

I celebrated back to school for 22 years between k-12, college, and six years of teaching. I remember the first time I didn't go back to school that August after Dallin had been born. It felt so weird watching everyone getting ready, but I was happy being my baby's mom. This year though, I'm going back to school! I'm dressing a little less formally than before (I dressed up more than most teachers because when you start teaching at 20, adults sometimes think you are a student) and my classroom is covered with the alphabet and numbers instead of nouns and verbs. I'm still carrying my teacher bag though!


The best part of going back to school is teaching this little one! I went from teaching 7th and 8th graders, to teaching 3 year olds. A definite change, but some behaviors are still the same....

Dallin is so excited to be starting preschool and he loves telling everyone that his teachers are Haley and mommy.

(I'm not sure what I was doing with Dallin's hair that day. There was a lot of water obviously because it dripped down his shirt! And the background, my front flower bed. It looks amazing right now.)
